About This Course
NIST 800-171 Cyber Assessment Initial Sessions (NAV104) is required by any Summer Cohort Community Navigators who will support business owners complete a NIST 800-171 Score for Cyber Compliance. This course typically takes about 6 hours to complete. In this course, Navigators will learn about the more advanced security needs of businesses who aspired to secure federal contracts or partnerships. They will learn how to lead a business owner to self-assess a NIST 800-171 Score for Cyber Compliance. They will complete one exercise and a series of quizzes. Their evaluation will be based upon their acquired knowledge as well as their effectiveness at reading comprehension, time management, and problem solving.
Course Objectives
Community Navigators will understand 1. What NIST 800-171 is and why businesses who wish to secure federal contracts need to be compliant with the standard 2. What the NIST 800-171 Score for Cyber Compliance is and how to guide a business owner to self-assess their security practices 3. How to lead a NIST 800-171 session with a local business 4. How to securely document and share the local business’ cybersecurity action items for their internal use.Requirements
Introduction to Cyber Best Practices Co-Led Assessments (NAV103) is a prerequisite for this course.
