About This Course

Introduction to Cybersecure Best Practices and Checkup Meetings (NAV202) is required by all Academic Cohort Community Navigators during their StartUp Training and typically takes about 4 hours to complete. In this course, you will be introduced to what cyber attacks and data breaches are and how they wreak havoc on local businesses. You will also learn what cybersecurity is. By implementing cybersecurity best practices, you will learn how local businesses can prevent attacks and protect their data, and therefore succeed in their digital growth. You will complete a series of short quizzes and one role playing exercise. Your evaluation will be based upon your acquired knowledge as well as your effectiveness at reading comprehension, time management, and problem solving.

Course Objectives

Community Navigators will understand 1) What cyber attacks and data breaches are and how they affect local businesses' data and devices 2) What cybersecurity is and best practices each local business should implement 3) How to use the Cybersecurity Best Practices Checklist to help businesses identify which best practices they are already using, which they should adopt 4) How to run a Cybersecurity Best Practices Checkup Meeting.

Requirements

Introduction to i-HELP and Google Workspace (NAV201) is a prerequisite for this course.
